New York's Madison Square Garden hosted a memorable heavyweight boxing match on Saturday night featuring Jarrell Miller and Kingsley Ibeh. During the second round, Ibeh launched a series of punches that elicited strong reactions from the audience. Among these, one blow caused Miller's head to jerk backward, unexpectedly dislodging the hairpiece he wore at the front of his scalp. This incident exposed a sizeable bald patch covering most of the top of Miller's head.
Miller persevered through the remainder of the round with his hairpiece still loosely attached. However, once he returned to his corner, he chose to remove the hairpiece and tossed it into the crowd at Madison Square Garden. This significant moment did not distract him from his performance, as he proceeded to secure a victory via split decision.
Following the bout, Miller engaged in a celebratory dance inside the ring, simultaneously rubbing the top of his head where the hairpiece had been displaced. During his post-fight interview, he revealed that he had recently lost much of his natural hair a few days earlier after using a bottle of shampoo found at his mother's residence.
Originally, Miller had been slated to appear at Madison Square Garden in a high-profile fight against the then-heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in 2019; however, complications arose when he failed a drug test, leading to Andy Ruiz stepping in as a replacement.
This Saturday night match was included in the undercard of a major event headlined by Teofimo Lopez's title clash against the previously unbeaten Shakur Stevenson, marking Miller's first appearance at this renowned venue.
